Nuestra historia

From Monterrey to Marco Island.

Chef and owner Ismael Perez and his family left their home in Monterrey, Mexico and came to Marco Island some twenty years ago. After working as a sous-chef at resorts around the area, he realized there was no authentic, homemade Mexican restaurant nearby, so in 2005 the family opened Margarita’s.

We cook traditional recipes passed down through generations, with ingredients sourced locally from Immokalee. Our meats are slow-cooked for hours, and our dining room is a gallery of colorful artwork by local artist Tara O’Neill telling the story of tequila.
